Permanent Make-up (Micro-Surgery Pigmentation) has been used for many centuries. Records indicate that Egyptians like 'Cleopatra' and others wore permanent make-up. The only difference is that in Cleopatra's time Egyptians wore eyeliner in a believe that it would scare off evil spirits. The contemporary woman uses it now to enhance the eyes.

Well, things have changed since. Back in Cleopatra's time they used sharp objects to deposit the pigments under the skin and anesthesia was no where near.  Now in modern times, we have state of the art machines that  make depositing of pigments a lot less painful and a lot faster. In addition we also now enjoy the added advantage of numbing solutions and anesthesia, which not only make tattooing virtually painless, but also help constrict blood vessels, reducing the possibility of bleeding.
